What are the origins of Tranxfer? What has been its evolution so far?

Tranxfer is a cybersecurity-oriented software manufacturer that was born in Barcelona in 2013 as an ad-hoc project for a major Spanish bank. After the consolidation of the project in 2017 we decided to found the company as Tranxfer, under the umbrella of Iris Venture Builder (it is the venture capital that is dedicated to the creation and development of technology-based startups and the cybersecurity and intelligence sector) to open this technology to other companies. Now Tranxfer is accessible to all companies, it has the trust of large companies, many of them from the IBEX 35, offering many different models adapted to their needs.

Tranxfer is a platform for the secure exchange of information, always with the aim of offering maximum ease of use, both for its platform and for its integrations with the most used digital work ecosystems. Under this premise, a plugin for the Microsoft stack has been recently launched, both for Teams and for Outlook, thus offering all companies that make use of Microsoft's digital workplace access to Tranxfer without having to leave their work environment. usual.

Hybrid work means that exchanging information and files, sometimes large, is no longer as before, in most cases, within an office or an internal network. Now it is necessary to send files very frequently, and sometimes very large. Not only to other companies, but also to employees working remotely for at least part of the week. How can Tranxfer help to facilitate this process?

Teleworking has boosted the use of the digital workplace. Companies have digitized their work processes, and this makes the exchange of files or information through digital channels a common practice for any employee.

Repositories have solved peer-to-peer sharing very well but are not the channel of choice for sharing with third parties. A large part of these communications are made by email, which generates inconvenience in terms of security, the "Man in the middle" or man-in-the-middle attack, the indiscriminate storage of attachments in the inbox until it becomes a 2nd repository... Also , the size limitations of attachments in emails, encourages the "Shadow IT" of employees, who seek alternative ways to send these large and heavy files using third-party applications not approved by the CISO and that, on many occasions, do not comply with security policies.

Tranxfer offers a secure sending and receiving channel, both for sending and receiving large files and with traceability to ensure regulatory compliance (among other features). Using this channel, companies and employees solve all the problems mentioned above using a secure way approved by the IT department to exchange information.

The files have to be transferred in a way that is secure. Also completely confidential. Especially if it is sensitive information. How does Tranxfer guarantee the security of shipments? What technologies does it use for it?

Tranxfer's secure channel encrypts all files with End-to-End encryption, using a unique code for each transfer. It also incorporates a configurable two-factor authentication module, and a unique checksum associated with the sending and receiving of the transfer, to assure the recipient of said transfer that the content is original and that it has not been maliciously modified or exchanged during the trip. Once the transfer is sent, it offers traceability about it, that is, the sender of the transfer can see if the receiver has opened the transfer, if he has downloaded his files or has only read them, and how many times he has done it. It is a platform that complies with all the standards dictated by the National Security Scheme, therefore we have its certificate. It is GDPR compliant, complies with current data protection regulations and everything is exportable for audit compliance.

What measures can a company take to prevent data and information leaks? And to protect yourself from attacks?

Information leaks are very frequent, and in many cases, unintentional. By working in digital ecosystems and saving all the information in the cloud, sometimes when sharing folders, we forget everything we have inside, or we upload files in folders that we don't see who has access to them. That is why it is of vital importance to limit the output of files and limit the repository to internal use. To avoid these leaks through other channels such as mail or Tranxfer, we use a fully configurable DLP module to regulate, through rules, what information has exit permissions and what does not.

It also offers the possibility of sending the files with the "View only" option, so that the recipient cannot download the file and save it forever. Once the transfer time has elapsed, it will be deleted. To avoid attacks, it has an integrated antivirus, which analyzes all the files that pass through Tranxfer, thus eliminating the possibility of downloading a malicious file. Using Tranxfer, recipients ensure that the information in the email and its attachments or links are completely original and free of malware. The platform is bidirectional, Tranxfer users can send a link so that the documents are sent to them by Tranxfer, even though the issuer does not have a Tranxfer account and thus also protect everything that enters its perimeter.

What goals does Tranxfer have for the future? What news do you have prepared or are you planning?

Tranxfer is aware that one of the main cybersecurity problems that companies face is the lack of employee awareness. Tranxfer wants to help companies and their employees with this task, and for this reason we offer user training and awareness programs

At the product level, we will continue to consolidate the alliance with Microsoft and continue with the integration of Tranxfer with other environments such as Google Workspace, Google's virtual workspace or Salesforce.

On a commercial level, Tranxfer concentrates part of its efforts on internationalization, opening a market in France, and expanding its services in Latin America, especially focusing on countries like Chile where GDPR-type laws are becoming a reality.
